Tools/equipment required:
55mm air ducting (from halfords)
54.7mm Bass port from maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=KS87U&DOY=4m3
55mm Drill hole cutting bit or Jigsaw
Cable tie
Glue Gun or Aryldite

Please take extra care and wear any necessary protective equipment when using tools - The responsibility is yours should you injure yourself or anyone else.

Extra air and especially cold air is always good for improved running. Vectra owners already have extra air feeds going into their air box's although they are blanked off, once opened up an improvment has been noticed, and Omega owners who have added axtra air feeds have also reported better lower rev range response.

First you need to cut the hole, on the 54.7mm bass port the flange of the port is 75.1mm so a 55mm hole is fine. I used a jigsaw to cut the hole, it wasnt a very neet way of doing it but the flange of the port gives a good seal to prevent hot air entering from the engine bay.

Space is limited so there is really only one face on the airbox into which you can cut a hole (See photo below)

You then need to cut your lovely new bass port in half to make more room otherwise it sticks out to far from the back of the air box once mounted and fouls the wheel arch. (See photo below)

You can then mount the bass port into the hole you have just cut. I recommend gluing the port onto the airbox to prevent it from moving although its not strictly needed. (See photo below)

And then mount the ducting onto the end of the port (See photo below)

Then all there is left to do is to mount the air box back into the car and feed the new ducting down underneath the car to gather cold air as your drive. and cable tie it out of the way.

haha! yep thats a very good point :D

hasnt anybody tried getting a 2 to 1 double adapter and putting it on the air box and having two pipes going to the grilles beside the foglights(on cd/cdx) or the big grilles at the bottom of the front bumper on other models?
thanks
