These are approximate costs for the first year.

Hosting = £120 Per Year (includes email server)
Domain Names = £15 Per Year (3 domains, .co.uk's are 2 yearly, .com yearly)
Banners & Leaflets = £170
Public Liability Insurance = £150
Stickers (for 150 stickers) = £260 (roughly £1.75 a sticker - full colour and 30 cm's big!!!)

Total = £715

Divided by 50 = £14.30p Then add 3.4% & 20p per Transaction PayPal fee's

This will leave us with 100 spare stickers, for either re-sale to the forum members or promotional purposes (at the club members descretion)

Any money left in the 'kitty' will at the members descretion, I.e. funding an event or helping to reduce next years membership fee's!

As long as we keep within the hosting budget, the membership costs will go down each year as more members join.

As far as i can see, the money is going to good purposes. I am currently making up some display poles (similar to the mig ones) that i am happy to make out of my own pocket. I shall post designs etc up on here before going ahead but if they get the thumbs up, it would be nice for the CLUB to have a say so.

The club (i.e. members) will have lots of say in this club, votes will take place for final designs etc. Nothing will be used by the club without the agreement of its members.

At the end of the day, this club is aiming to be as member focussed as possible as without members its worth nothing.

Or will they ? I reckon that price is about right, you should be more ambitious with your numbers, and less clear about what you do with the surplus.

That's a pricing method the opposite of the way most businesses developing new markets and customers operate. They price according to what people will pay and once they start covering their costs they start pushing the price up.

Have you investigated the price vs demand curve, and the demand curve vs cost curve, to work out the most profitable price to cost curve ? :turd

I'm glad you have not !! That would make me think it was a business. :bananasmi

Anyway - open my other thread - I've NOT finished yet !!! Or is this the new VX-On ? You close threads just cause you don't like the subject?

And what makes you think all this? We don't want extra money, why should members pay more when they don't have to?!

It's not a business its a club, a non profit club.

The other thread was locked because the subject is over, I answered your questions I can't see anything productive coming out of the subject!
You've already said your don't want to pay to be in more than one club, which is fair enough.

It only seems fair as part of the money goes towards hosting etc. and I have got a lot of info and help off here in the past. This has saved me a lot of cash. Only right to put something back. It's all about give and take I reckon. ;) Anyway, it's only 15 quid FFS!
