I have two questions...

1. reading the proposal I just want to clarify that the forums will stay largely as is, with a couple paid member only sections (meets etc). As this is a large part of the attraction of VxON at the moment.

2. It says on the proposal that anyone banned from the forum will be banned from the club with no fee refunds. What would cause someone to be banned in the future as there's been a few people banned in the past for matters of distaste (IE saying and doing things which make people think they're a prat) but in future things like that may be a bit harsh to ban someone from the club. If that makes sense.

1. Yep, you read it right :)

2. Obviously money is concerned here, people will not be banned for no reason, all cases will be examined prior to being banned and removed as a member.

Its an annual fee. The £15 fee is based on 50 members. The more members, the cheaper the membership fee becomes.

Heres where the money goes..

Take a look at the Poll below.

Club, the way ahead imho. We have proved what we are capable of without the club status, it would be good to see what we can do if we were official!

Anyone who has said yes in here but not atually voted in the poll in the other thread can you please make sure you do, it's the numbers at the top of this poll that will determine the movemnt forward.

How long are you going to wait on the numbers before a final price is decided on. Surely a fixed price now and if you get any profit then get some stuff made up and send it with the pack. Keyrings, Different stickers, Nitrous kit for me, cuddly toy etc.

It's unlikely the price will change to be honest, as 68 have said yes, but as always the number that actually pay can be different, if the numbers were closer to 100 then it would be time to re-look at the price.

But excess funds are all up for debate by paid up members - so YOU will have a say in what happens to it ;)

It is likely payment details will be released tomorrow :D

The price will be discussed between me and Dave within the next 24 hours - to see what we both think ;)

Have you aproached Vauxhall to see if any addition benefits are available to clubs of this sort i.e. access to technical data, trade club discount etc?

This has been a big thought and consideration between myself and Dave, we have come to the conclusion that we need to wait till we have an established member base before approaching a big company like that. Vauxhall wouldnt listen to us unless we had a decent number of members.

Just paid 18 quid on a whim to join Rover Torque (rover owners club) and their site after getting the password isn't nearly as good as this (no forum either) but I am promised a load of stickers and mags etc in the mail so will let you know what happens, also they have discounts on parts and insurance and breakdown cover etc. Clubs imho only work with (at least a quarterly) printed mag, some discounts on something and a holding of spares. Also there can become a 'clique' of people on the board which eventually leads to problems.

Paypal only is an issue as 1) they take a cut and 2) there are people out there without web access who may want to join, also Vxon needs further clarification as to what cars it covers or specifically as a classic car fan myself how far back in the vx range it covers.

If you were a contributor before hand it will still show, but the club wipes out the need for the contributor donations :)

Not at all, being a member wouldnt offer me anything to be honest, BUT i still support the site and would like to contribute. Been using the site for some 3/4 years and would like to contribute if its not possible then so be it!!

laidback66
31-10-2005, 09:36 AM
Well by becoming a member you would be contributing and supporting the site. Whether you then chose to use the extras sections is purely up to you. :)

PVO_Dave
31-10-2005, 10:24 AM
There will be NO contributions, all costs from the site are covered by the club.
Thanks anyway.

Probably best to, I don't know what has brought on your attitude problem recently, probably best to keep it to your self and off the forums.

Not wanting to fuel a fire but... as membership fee is just £5 more (or is it 3) more than contribution fee last year, why not pay membership if you want to contribute. Then if you don't want to use any of the to be decided benefits that's fine.

Dunc
31-10-2005, 11:10 AM
I've only ever paid £5 contributors fee Ben, don't know bout you though.

TBH the forum is left pretty much alone, you do get some extra PM space and an Avatar if you don't already have access to one.

The idea is to not take anything away from the current setup :)
