I just got my provisional licence back today and have to take my test again after gaining 6 points within the first 2 years! :'(
And I am after buying a 1.0 litre corsa and modifying it etc, cause they are a group 1 on insurance, at the moment a normal 1.0 litre stands at an amazingly FAST 45bhp! :| how on earth can I double that with out spending to much? Drop a M3 engine in it? :D

drop a bigger engine in.
1 litre, 3 cylinders and 12 valves aint gonna do much, and there aint much there to modify

6 points within 2 years? Pah! I had nine in 12 months! :p ;)
But yeah, i agree with Dave. Engine swapping is the best way to see large and reliable increases in power.

Aye - swap yer engine, but then insurnace would be a pain in the ass. unless you don't tell em. But then it's arsebag time if you have an accident (you can't stop some other twat driving into you) - then it's driving without insurance etc etc.
Wait until you only have a few points on yer licence and save your money.
Don't forget that you can put in a nice ICE install and have a car that doesn't need to go fast, but sounds smart and looks smart.
Just my opinion.

much better to get the 1.2
you'll have some jaws left, the vibration is awful at tickover, plus the exhasut front pipe bracket shears due to vibration, egr valve knackers up all time, bla bla bla.
