1: Remove both centre vents by prising them out with a knife
2: Remove the two screws that hold the vent housing in place, pull the housing out
3: Remove the screw at the end of the clocks, the one by the MID
4: Turn the wheel 90 degrees to remove the screw holding the steering cowling on, then turn it to 90 degrees the other way to remove the other screw.
5: Turn the wheel back straight and remove the screw in the centre of the clocks
6: Pull the clocks from the left, unclip the wire going to the MID and remove the clocks completley, change said bulb.
7: Fitting is a reverse of removal as they say

2.2 so facelift model...

....remove the two centre air vents (I use a couple of butter knives) by levering gently on either end of them to pop them out, some times made easier by pointing the vents fully down.

Remove the two screws exposed once the vents are removed and extract the vent assembly.

Remove the screw securing the left had end of the instrument panel.

Tilt the steering wheel fully down (on non adjustable columns you need to remove the upper steeringw heel cowl by removing the screws which can be accessed with the steering wheel in the 9 Oclock and then 3 Oclock positions) and then remove the screw securing the bottom of the instrument panel.

Grasp the left had end of the panel and pull forward, then reach in behind to release the MID/TID/GID/CID connector(s) (the grey type connector has a cam locking system which needs to be release and rotated through 90 degress, the yellow type connector has a black plastic lock which needs to be slid outwards).

The panel then simply pops out.

These instructions are great. I`ve done the job in an hour!!!

Do you have similar instructions for removing the centre dsah panel that houses the climate control switches (4 large round multi switches, other switches (rear screen, traction control, heated seats etc and the radio. This panes is a simulated wood finish.

Also the right hand climate control temperature gauge has gone dull as if the LED is out, however you can still see the temperature but it is very dull. Is this a bulb failure or a replacement unit??

Thanks again:bananasmi

I have 2 displays gone wrong in my CDX. My VX dealer said they are soldered in, and you need a replacement control. Supposedly expensive.

I'd be interested in knowing how to remove the dash though.

Thanks

I had a climate control replaced under Net Q several years ago, the cost would have been, including fitting!!!!! Sit down, £530, YES! FIVE THREE ZERO... So get a soldering iron and a bulb, just a suggestion, maybe even take the unit to a television repair shop, surely they'll do it pretty quickly..
