new new vectra

I just had a good look over the new vectra

the new 2.2L engine is in back to front.
the inlet is at the radiator side and the exhaust comes out the back.
there is an electronics module sitting right on top of the inlet???
looks neat though.

aluminium lower wishbones and the good old skinny pendulum support bar is still there in a different guise.
new gearbox with cable shifter.
17 inch wheels
totally hidden power steering pump and alternator
battery completely enclosed.
re-design of brake calipers.

very functional inside with some nice touches like a theft proof stereo with both tape and cd.

i was mildly impressed.

I like the look of the new Veccy but never had the time (read - be bothered) to go see it in the flesh
