Had a problem 8 months ago with loss of power at around 70 mph, gradually got worse even at low speeds, test showed problem with flow boost controller, vauxhall replaced electrical part, then same problem occured, vauxhall found damaged injection hose, ok for 8 months now same power loss even at low speed, although intermitant now, (engine management light comes on but then goes off). No faith in vauxhall, any clues. Car only 1999 model, with 39000 on clock.[

I had a similar problem about 2 years ago, went into limp-home mode coming back from Cornwall, (long way to Derby form Taunton at only 50 mph).

It turned out to be a boost pressure pipe had touched the boost pres. valve and it didn't like that, got it fixed and then about 12 months later I started getting intermitent MIL lamp and loss of power, only for a couple of seconds at first but then it got worse, took into main dealer he told me it needed a new fuel pump £££££££, I told him it was a boost problem, so I chucked the keys at him and told him to keep the car until he fixed it, 2 days later he phoned me up and guess what I had an interittent boost pressure valve , caused by the little problem that I had the year before.

So my advice is don't trust the dealers, have a look at the boost valve, pressure sensor, or the boost pressurfe pipes.
