My astra GTE 2.0 8v keeps cutting out and kangaroo's whenever i jump on the loud pedal, i get no management light coming on when this happens and the engine ticks over fine and revs fine when not moving. Before you ask, yes there was enough petrol in it!:)

Air leak in induction system somewhere possibly.

And has the ICV been cleaned out recently...also check the cleanliness of the throttle flap and body.

I used to own a Belmont 1.8 CDi and had the kangarooing,i had the throttle body cleaned and it was fine afterwards.

it wont help matters if your rear engine mount is mush either.

My mates Cav Sri had a hair line split on rubber pipe between air intake sensor and engine, which only opened as he accelerated away, convincing the Engine(mis)management that less air was being used and (I assume) reducing the fuel injected and joey effect . It was okay at idle or once at constant speed.

The ICV is or should be attached to the front of the inlet manifold with a short stubby pipe and another L shaped pipe that goes into the throttle body.

Thats if its the same engine configuration as the 2.0 8vs in cavs.

It might be a air leak but it might be a fuel pump problem or fuel pressure regulator problem???
