Vectra Spare wheel mounting

I have a 2.0 DTi Vectra Elegance supplied with a space saver spare which I wish to replace with an alloy, to match the other 4 wheels. However the mounting stud for the space saver is not long enough for screwing on the retaining clamp when the alloy wheel is in place.
Any known solution to this?

go to your local vaux dealer and get one for a normal size wheel

If you are saying that you can't secure the spare wheel, maybe you can extend the stud with some threaded rod, and a threaded sleeve or deep nut?
