Had an awesome time at the party this year and the company and entertainment was top notch so a massive thankyou to the Boys as they have done us proud once again...

TBH i was amazed that hardly anyone was there and i think its a bad show when a lot of 'Key' members on this site didnt even bother to show..didnt stop the ones that made an effort having a good time though:p

Some cracking prizes on the raffle too:bust:

This was the first thing i have done this year with VXON and has really boosted my thoughts on the club and once again a massive thanks for a great night and entertaining me and joe ( in fact she is a sleep on the settee:shake )

Aye, top draw lads, Marc, Dave and the big man... excellent weekend.

Shout has to go out to Eddy and his mate (Think it's Lee?) too for the entertainment.

You know it's been a good night when 12 hours after you've woke up you're still hung over.

A little unfair I think mate.

I'm sure there are LOTS of people who would've loved to go to this, but there are infinite reasons as to why they didn't attend.

It's not all about 'making the effort'.

'Cost' is probably the main reason why people didn't attend. From the south coast it would probably cost £70-80 there and back in fuel,.......from mid-Scotland even MORE. Then add the cost of a room etc. At this time of year most people don't have a couple of hundred quid to spare (especially those with children). Geographical location plays a major role here.

Then there are issues of baby-sitters, work, health, shyness, and people being double-booked for alsorts of OTHER events.

Dont take that as a dig to any certain members paul as it wasnt intended like that and yes im a family man with a child as you know and luckily i could get mitch watched but i know what its like when you cant....

There was less than half of what there was last year and it wasnt as though it was a last minute thing its been planned for months...

pete came from dublin and i bet he would have appriciated if more people had turned up TBH..

it would have been nice to meet some more members and generaly get more people involved and liven this place up a bit....

with a year or more to plan for it working out at no more than a few quid a week - there's little in the way of real reasons if people were to make the effort ... not making the effort means leaving it til the last minute and then trying to fit it in ...

anyway ... @tidzy's post  Seconded - big up the boys

Yep, I'd pretty much echo that.

It's not that people should be there, and that anyone who's not gone has let the club down and all that, it's that it would have been nice to have had a few more people there to enjoy it.

But people (again especially with families) have to be selective.

They may not have been to THIS bash, but they may well have been to 2 or 3 EARLIER meets/shows/rolling road days etc to support the club that YOU didn't go to.

Swings and roundabouts.

I hear Tidzy's frustration loud and clear all the same though :Cool2:

Indeed it would have been nice had more people attended, but despite the low turnout it was a great night.
You can put my name down for the 2008 party.

But people (again especially with families) have to be selective. absolutely, agree with you 100%

They may not have been to THIS bash, but they may well have been to 2 or 3 EARLIER meets/shows/rolling road days etc to support the club that YOU didn't go to. my comment wasn't aimed at anybody in particular, I'm sorry 'YOU' took it this way, again

Swings and roundabouts.

I hear Tidzy's frustration loud and clear all the same though :Cool2:

Being the single biggest 'club' event in the year, we thought there would have been more of us attending, nothing more to it than that ...

cheap too during, um, 'happy hour' .. .ahem.

I never knew that this was officially 'the biggest event of the year'.

I'm not taking this 'personally', but merely sticking up for the busy people of VXON.

This has been mentioned before, and I know that hard-working contributors such as SteveW have been down this 'discussion road' before.

I'd already told Dave, Marc and Tidzy via msn YONKS ago that I wouldn't be attending and why,...........so again, I certainly am NOT taking it personally :Cool2:

ok ... I just said this wasn't about anybody in particular, you didn't have to justify yourself.
