i've got a 2.0 out of a mk2 cav auto,the question is:
will the 1.8se flywheel mate with the 2.0 crank?
i know if it was an auto then the parts are the same(checked on epc)but i heard a rumour that the crank is different for the auto.
now can anyone tell me if this is true,or is there just a little spacer on the end of the crank like the 2.5 and 3.0 omega and vectra engines?
:p

cheers chris.
the 1.8se in it is a good lump, but the 2.0 is coming for free,so i thought it'd be an interesting project.the cars on a G and its only done 70 odd thou, got that cheap too.its proper clean, apart from the fact its been stood for 3 years since the head gasket went.i've done the head gasket and it runs sweet!
but still 2.0l power is too good to resist!!!!!!!!
as an aside chris,do you know if the cav power steering pump is compatible with the astra rack?
i only ask cos the astra hasnt got power steering yet,but it feels like a tank, and while the engines out,i may as well fit it! :p
