A very big thank you to Alex who a) towed me to that place, b) let me use his phone as mine was dead and c) sat there for 2h30 waiting with me. I really appreciate it mate, you're a star

What happened there Nic??
Should of give it a drop of JD and it would of been on its way in no time lol
Oh and it seem's Panzer wagon's don't like mud at pv or ditches on the way to tesco's
I have yet more bad news regarding faults to/from PVS too...
I'm affraid my car developed a terrible rattle just after joining the M1 yesterday, seems I accelerated a little too hard on the slip road and my socket set slid backwards and rested against the rear panel, where the vibrations made the socket bits jingle all the way to Junction 20

Is the socket set repairable or will you be breaking it for parts?

Wasn't my fault this time (I think)
What happened?

Oh and I didn't ACTUALLY break down ;) I just decided to park it because driving any further would risk damaging the engine. Oil pressure has been playing up for a while, being mainly too low but a bit high if you try and push it. Getting stuck in the queue leaving Santa Pod did it no good and when it finally dropped to 0.5bar at idle I decided enough was enough (just outside the entrance to Santa Pod).
It's now at Henryk's and is getting a new oil pump and relief valve, plus a few other problems sorted, inc fuelling.

I'll break it open tomorrow and have a good look at the internals.
I feel like a bit of a spanner tbh :shake

Should of give it a drop of JD and it would of been on its way in no time lolFunny how I took a bottle of JD there, drank lots of it, and ended up with a lot more than I took there in the 1st place :lmao: Thanks Mark.

So technically, now you've done the engine conversion, getting places is a lot SLOWER than it was before... :think :bust:

Well, it's now got a new oil pump and a spanking clean sump and relief valve. There was some grit in the sump but apparently it didn't look like sand blasting, which would have been my first guess. Strange.
The fuelling problem was traced to something (will know more tomorrow) being a tooth out, which is why it was over fuelling causing unburnt fuel to be chucked out of the exhaust (thanks Phil) and it's probably why I only managed under 200 miles to a tank :eh
Picking it up tomorrow hopefully, depending on how the test drive goes in the morning.

that sounds good and exciting, has it cured the slight puff of smoke problem too?

That's what the test drive should show tomorrow.
I was told that due to the oil pressure being all over the place, it may have blown a seal somewhere causing the smoking, but apparently it's not a big job to replace it as it's just like a washer. That's all I know about it, I'll know more tomorrow :)

Because I was the one that cleaned it :lmao: And I don't normally trust myself to do a good job

There was some fine dust around the timing belt apparently, and the water pump feels a bit tight :think Will know more tonight.
