Right then, PVS 2007...
Started off for me a little later than I would normally set off on Saturday because I was working Friday night, but as it turned out I arrived at Pod for camping before a few others anyway. As always the camping on the Saturday night was a riot, and aside some dippy cnuts almost blowing the camp site up by tossing a fireball petrol can at a car, it went quite well. The weather was very good to us on the Saturday and Sunday alike, infact it was probably a little too hot for my liking, really should have found some shade instead of sitting in the sun for too long!
Let's not beat around the bush then, the highlight of Saturday was Ayden's 'Love Bus' which was not only popular with us, but the whole camp site loved it, not least of which is when it carryed 22 of us round from the camp site to the fairground, and with a well placed dixxie horn we dissembarked army style from the back of the big blue bus... much to the amusement of everyone around apart from Pod security lol.
Then it was on the fairground, and a ride round on the dodgems and then the gravity wheel, which seemed to make Ayden's mate Adam feel a little poorly. Me and Nikki were going to also go on the bungie leap, but as soon as we found out the ride fair was TEN POUNDS per person, per 'ride' that idea quickly went out the window! After the rides it was time for some food, and as much as I almost went red with rage at the bloody prices (£1.30 for a bottle of pop £2 for a SMALL tray of chips) I was just about wasting away and needed food in me, so reluctantly I got some food, whilst Simon (Daywalker) got rather attatched to a bucking bronco in the shape of a male body with a cock to grab onto (There are pictures of this, just not on my camera lol) he seemed to take to it like a duck to water though, plenty of practice I'm sure.
After the usual menu of banter and food, which I ended up cooking again, and then a healthy 2 hours sleep it was up again for the actual event. Unfortunatly for me, the combination of some silly eating, 6 hours sleep out of 48hrs and too much sun, I felt like death warmed up for most of the event. After towing Alex's Panzer tank out of a ditch and washing half of Northants off my car I had to sit down and get out the sun before I fell over, infact I felt so bad I was about to drive home before the event had really started. The only thing that kept me there was the fact that I physically couldn't drive a car with my head spinning like that, I ended up sleeping/passsing out for a little while in the shade and fortunatly by later on I was just about able to stand up and walk about again lol!
Feeling like shit aside, and I haven't felt that ill or dissorientated in a long while I enjoyed the whole weekend as ever. I didn't get the chance to look around because of how bad I was for most of the day, but towards the end of the day when I felt better I did enjoy it. A big thanks goes out to everyone who kept me company and kept an eye on me when I was feeling like I was on death's door, and was nice to meet some new faces (Eddy, K.O.T.K to name but two)
Big thanks to Dave, Marc & Mark for the organisation, Mark could have quite easily not bothered coming in light of his mechanical woes, so cheers guys for another top day/weekend. Couple of points to mention.... firstly our stand this year was leagues better than last year in terms of space to do anything with, secondly when we left the stand our lot actually bothered the small trip to the bin with their rubbish unlike some others, I was one of the last to leave the site and cleaned up a few bits here and there but on the whole it's nice to see we don't just use and abuse our space, and I'm sure that fact is noticed by the organisers aswell.
Pictures of most if not all the cars on our stand. 56k might better put the kettle on lol.
Thanks for a great weekend guys & girls, good to see you all.
